AUBURN, Maine (AP) - Police in Maine say a routine traffic stop turned into a drug bust and the seizure of a significant amount of cocaine and heroin.
Auburn police pulled over 25-year-old Jean Valbrun of Lowell, Mass., on Sunday afternoon. His two children, ages 9 and 1, were in the car.
Deputy Chief Jason Moen says Valbrun consented to a search of his rented vehicle. The search resulted in the discovery of 113 grams of crack cocaine and 237 grams of heroin with an estimated street value of $75,000.
Valbrun us being held on $50,000 bail on charges of aggravated drug trafficking. It’s not clear if he has a lawyer.
The children were released to family members.
