ST. LOUIS (AP) - A former law professor at Washington University in St. Louis is returning to campus as the law school’s new dean.

Nancy Staudt is a tax law scholar and vice dean for faculty and academic affairs at the University of Southern California. She was a professor at the private St. Louis university from 2000 to 2006 and has also taught at Northwestern University in Chicago and the University of Buffalo.

The school announced Staudt’s hiring on Monday. She replaces Kent Syverud, who left for a job as Syracuse University’s chancellor.
