WALKER, La. (AP) - A domestic abuse battery charge against former Livingston Parish President Mike Grimmer has been dismissed by a judge after Grimmer’s wife failed to appear in court three times for the trial.

Mike Grimmer was booked into the Livingston Parish Detention Center on May 31 on a count of misdemeanor domestic abuse battery after an alleged altercation with his wife, Janet Grimmer, at the couple’s home in Walker.

Police have said Mike Grimmer was found to be the aggressor.

The Advocate reports (https://bit.ly/1kFFq1w ) Kerry Carpenter, the Walker public defender, motioned to have the case dismissed after Janet Grimmer’s third absence Tuesday.
