EDMOND, Okla. (AP) - A Cherokee Nation artist will discuss his efforts to preserve the Native American language during a speech at the University of Central Oklahoma later this month.

UCO’s Department of English and the American Indian Studies Program will host artist and filmmaker Joseph Erb at 6 p.m. on March 27.

Erb will discuss art, language and his work with the Cherokee Nation.



Erb has produced a short animated film based on a traditional Cherokee story in the Cherokee language.

The event is free and open to the public.
