O’FALLON, Mo. (AP) - Firefighters in the St. Louis suburb of O’Fallon battled an intense early morning brush fire Tuesday.

KMOV-TV (bit.ly/1nBabt4 ) reports that the fire began around 2 a.m. near a residential area in the 700 block of Autumn Valley Drive Fire officials said the flames were nearly eight feet tall when they arrived. Approximately one-half acre of land burned before fire crews were able to contain the blaze.

There are no injuries reported, and no word on a cause of any damages to nearby homes.
