OAKLAND, Calif. (AP) - Authorities have arrested eight people and recovered a large amount of drugs, ammunition and cash at a home in Northern California.

Oakland Police Department spokeswoman Johnna Watson says a warrant authorizing a search for illegal narcotics and weapons was served just before 2 p.m. at a home in the 2300 block of 90th Avenue in Oakland. During the search, the officers also locked down a nearby high school.

Watson says police took eight men into custody and found three pounds of marijuana as well as a cache of ammunition, a large stash of cash and an illegal ammunition magazine.



KGO-TV reports (https://bit.ly/1fGfxtb ) that investigators are looking into whether the suspects are involved in gang activity.

The station says their names and the exact charges were not immediately available.
