HOUSTON (AP) - Authorities say an outlet mall in northwest Harris County was evacuated after a bomb scare that turned out to be a false alarm.

The Houston Chronicle reports (https://bit.ly/1gE4y4c ) a bomb-sniffing dog “false hit” on an abandoned bag Sunday. That forced the evacuation of the Houston Premium Outlets off U.S. 290.

A bomb squad determined the bag contained nothing dangerous after about two hours. The scene was deemed safe and shoppers were allowed to return to their parked cars.
