CHEYENNE, Wyo. (AP) - The Wyoming Department of Workforce Services is set to hold a free seminar in Cheyenne on Thursday aimed at helping contractors in the state win bids for public works projects.

KGWN-TV reports (https://bit.ly/1fE4yjR ) the seminar will be held from 1 p.m. to 5 p.m. at the Cheyenne Workforce Center and will provide information about the steps an individual contractor needs to take to employ Wyoming residents after contracts have been awarded.

The Wyoming Preference Act aims to keep public money in the state by giving a leg up to Wyoming contractors who are bidding on public works projects. The law also gives Wyoming residents preference over out-of-staters looking to work on such projects.
