FLAGSTAFF, Ariz. (AP) - A warning for hazardous fire conditions is in effect for northeastern Arizona on Monday as strong winds are forecast to buffet much of northern and west-central Arizona.

The National Weather Service says a weather system and dry cold front approaching from the north will bring winds to much of northern Arizona, generally along and north of Interstate 40.

A wind advisory is in effect for winds of 20-30 mph with gust up to 50 mph.

Forecasters say the red flag warning for dangerous fire conditions in northeastern Arizona will remain in effect through early Monday evening.
