LUMBERTON, Miss. (AP) - Little Black Creek Campground and Park is now open under new management.
In December, Pat Harrison Waterway District’s board of directors awarded Paul, Jane and Jordan Nettles a 50-year lease on the 640-acre property located between Purvis and Lumberton.
All the cabins have been reworked with new equipment and furniture. The old lodge is now the store, operated by Betty and Albert Nettles. It offers live bait and food items. The store is fully stocked for fishing, and boats, canoes and golf carts are available for rent.
The Nettles family is working on a splash pad for summer, which would be adjoining to the pool. They are also planning to build more cabins and RV parking places.
The Hattiesburg American reports (https://hatne.ws/1cPEF5K ) the official opening is set for April 11-13.
