DUNEDIN, Fla. (AP) - Three bicyclists were injured in a crash in during a long-distance ride in Pinellas County.

The crash happened Sunday afternoon as about 30 members of the Suncoast Cycling Club were in the 53rd mile of a 57-mile trip.

Pinellas County Sheriff’s deputies say one man suffered life-threatening injuries in the crash.



The Tampa Bay Times (https://bit.ly/1kWxjjT ) 53-year-old Roberto Singson touched his front tire against a rider in front of him. Singson lost control and fell. He struck his head on the ground. Two more bikers -60-year-old James Poitras and 55-year-old John Burchfield - crashed into him and fell.

Deputies say Singson was flown to a hospital. Poitras suffered a broken right clavicle and Burchfield was treated and released. All three men were wearing helmets.
