FRANKFORD, Del. (AP) - Delaware State Police say a man was killed and his wife was seriously hurt when their car was hit by a truck in Frankford.

It happened about 4:10 p.m. Sunday on Powell Farm Road. Troopers say 73-year-old Catherine Wills of Frankford was driving east when she failed to stop at a stop sign at Roxana Road.

Police say Wills’ car was hit by a truck driven by 51-year-old Darryl Matthews of Laurel. Troopers say the car spun around and the truck fell onto its driver’s side.

Officers say Catherine Wills’ husband, 73-year-old William Wills Jr., a passenger in the car, was pronounced dead at the scene. Catherine Wills was taken to a local hospital in serious condition.

Matthews was not injured.

The accident is under investigation.
