PASSAIC, N.J. (AP) - Roughly 50 people were displaced when a fire broke out at a multifamily home in northern New Jersey and then spread to another residence.

Passaic fire officials tell The Record (https://bit.ly/1iSc1j0) that the three-alarm blaze started at a four-family house around 11:25 p.m. Saturday and soon spread to a three-family house. The fires were brought under control in about 90 minutes, but both homes were left uninhabitable.

It didn’t appear that any residents were hurt in the fire, but some firefighters were treated for minor injuries.

The cause of the fire remains under investigation.
