NORTHVILLE, Mich. (AP) - Wayne County Parks is promising a sweet time for those who sign up for its hands-on maple sugaring program.

Naturalists are to lead a 90-minute program on Saturday at the Cass Benton Park picnic shelter in Northville.

Attendees are to learn the history of maple sugaring and take a hike into the woods for a tree-tapping demonstration. The group is to be served pancakes with a topping of the “real thing” afterward.

The maple sugaring program lasts about 90 minutes. It will be held again on March 22.
