HURON, S.D. (AP) - Ashley Rozell scored 21 points, and Warner outscored Sanborn Central-Woonsocket 11-6 in overtime, as the Monarchs won 49-44 to defend their championship at the South Dakota Class B girls’ basketball tournament on Saturday.

Miranda Ristau had 18 for the Monarchs (24-2). Warner became the first South Dakota High School Activities Association team to win consecutive volleyball and basketball titles in back-to-back seasons.

Warner shot 41 percent from the field and made 17 of 27 free throws.



Sanborn Central-Woonsocket (24-2) shot 36 percent and went just 5 of 11 from the line.

Myah Selland had 26 points, on 10-of-18 shooting, for the Blackhawks. Marissa Weber had 11 points, including three 3-pointers.
