MONTPELIER, Vt. (AP) - The Vermont Department of Tourism says the 5th annual Vermont Restaurant Week will be held next month.
The food celebration is set for April 25 through May 4 and organizers say it will give Vermonters the chance to enjoy local cuisine at about 80 participating restaurants offering prix-fixe dinners for $15, $25 or $35.
Seven Days, a newsweekly, is an organizer of the weeklong event.
Restaurant week will be kicked off with the Sweet Start Smackdown on April 24 where Vermont pastry chefs will compete for best state dessert.
Events and participating restaurants are online at www.vermontrestaurantweek.com .
Vermont officials will also be arranging lodging deals for resorts and inns.
Ten percent of sponsorship proceeds and 100 percent of special events admissions will be donated to the Vermont Foodbank.
