PHOENIX (AP) - Phoenix police say a man has died after jumping from a freeway overpass.
Authorities say the man jumped from an overpass on Interstate 10 near Pecos Road sometime after 9 a.m.
Sgt. Steve Martos says the man was declared dead at the scene.
Martos did not release any other information.
Arizona Department of Transportation officials say I-10 westbound at the Loop 202 Santan Freeway and a ramp from Pecos Road eastbound leading to the I-10 have reopened.
Investigators had closed both areas for several hours after the incident.
ADOT says traffic backup will likely remain and drivers should expect delays.
They say motorists from Casa Grande going to Phoenix should consider exiting by way of northbound State Route 587 to avoid traffic jams.
