HAYS, Kan. (AP) - Katie Huerter scored 19 points and Ashley Kramer added 17 points as Baileyville B&B rolled by Golden Plains 59-40 on Saturday to claim the Kansas Class 1A-II state title.
Baileyville B&B (24-3) jumped to a 28-12 halftime lead after holding Golden Plains (22-4) to just three points in the second quarter. Huerter and Kramer combined for 18 points in the first half to lead Baileyville B&B.
The lead stretched to 48-20 after three quarters, as Baileyville B&B held Golden Plains to single-digit scoring in each of the first three quarters.
Huerter was 6 of 8 from the field and hit 7 of 7 from the free-throw line. Kramer made 8 of 13 from the floor to go along with five assists and four steals. Lauren Sudbeck added 12 points and eight rebounds.
Hailee Spresser was the lone Golden Plains scorer in double figures with 12 points.
