GALLIANO, La. (AP) - Lafourche Parish sheriff’s deputies say a 54-year-old Galliano woman who allegedly stole money from an elderly friend on multiple occasions, has been arrested on 10 felony charges.
The Daily Comet reports (https://bit.ly/1iJ8Tpq ) Charlene Romero was arrested on March 7.
Deputies say family members of an elderly Galliano man determined Romero had befriended the man and allegedly took his money on multiple occasions.
She was booked with thefts of assets of an aged/disabled person, exploitation of the infirmed, and two counts of simple burglary.
She was released from the Lafourche Parish jail after posting and $80,000 bond.
It was unclear whether Romero has an attorney.
