SPEARFISH, S.D. (AP) - Kelsey Bertram made six free throws in the last 1:06 as Winner beat Elk Point-Jefferson 59-55 Friday in the semifinals of the South Dakota Class A girls basketball tournament.
Bertram finished with 18 points, including the six big free throws, for the Warriors (23-1). She also had seven rebounds and three assists.
The game was tied down the stretch, but the Warriors’ strength on the line came into play. They were 19 of 23 while Elk Point-Jefferson (21-2) was just 9 of 14.
Cassidy Hanson was the only other Winner player in double figures with 11 points.
McKenzie Mennenga had 15 points and Keely Bertram 14 for the Huskies.
Both teams shot 41 percent from the field.
