ALEXANDRIA, La. (AP) - A Boyce teenager has been killed after a crash west of Alexandria.

Louisiana State Police say 18-year-old Derek J. Stanley was pronounced dead following the crash that occurred about 7:15 p.m. Wednesday on Louisiana Highway 488.

Louisiana State Police say Stanley was a passenger in a pickup driven by 20-year-old Andrew M. Juneau, also of Boyce. Investigators say Juneau lost control and exited the right side of the road, overturned and hit a large tree.

Juneau and 18-year-old Brandon Ward, of Otis, also a passenger, received moderate injuries and were taken to area hospitals for treatment.

Authorities say it was not known if Juneau and Ward were wearing seatbelts; Stanley was wearing a seatbelt, but was pronounced dead at the scene.
