FRANKFORT, Ky. (AP) - Seasonal access to the Salt River above Taylorsville Lake is reopening in preparation for the coming white bass spawning run.
The Palmer Road access on Taylorsville Lake Wildlife Management Area will remain open from daylight until dark from March 15 until April 11. The gravel road which parallels the Salt River in the WMA is normally gated to vehicles except during quota deer hunts in fall.
The seasonal access allows anglers easy access to two miles of bank fishing. The area includes two gravel parking lots with space for 10-15 vehicles and several one car pull-offs spread along the roadway. The road will close to vehicular traffic once spring turkey season starts April 12.
