HOT SPRINGS, Ark. (AP) - Chase Paladino had 14 points and nine rebounds as Nemo Vista pulled away in the closing minutes to earn its first state title with a 37-32 win over Wonderview in the girls Class 1A championship game.
The Lady Red Hawks (32-6) led 31-30 with less than two minutes remaining, but they went on a 6-0 run to pull ahead 37-30 and hold on in their first state championship appearance.
Paladino, named the tournament’s Most Outstanding Player, scored Nemo Vista’s final two points at the free throw line and finished 4 of 7 on 3-pointers. Jacie Andrews added 10 points for the Lady Red Hawks.
Bailey Zimmerman led the Lady Daredevils (33-8) with 15 points, while Ali Harris had 11 and was 3 of 5 on 3-pointers.
