LAKE CHARLES, La. (AP) - Midland dominated the fourth quarter to pull away in a 61-51 win over Fairview in the Class B championship game Friday.
Midland (31-3) started the fourth with a 10-2 run to open a ten-point lead. Darren Arceneaux and Jake Gautreaux each scored four points during the run.
Randy Primeaux led the Rebels with 22 points. Gautreaux added 19.
Brennan Maddox led Fairview (31-6) with 21.
Midland led by nine midway through the third quarter before Fairview closed the quarter with an 11-3 run to make the score 45-43 going into the fourth.
Midland led 28-26 at halftime behind Gautreaux’s 11 points and Primeaux’s 10. The Rebels used a 15-8 run to take an eight-point lead, but Fairview closed the half with a 10-4 spurt.
Fairview’s Maddox scored 14 points in the half, including 11 in the second quarter.
