Man arrested in fatal Kirkwood hit-and-run

ST. LOUIS (AP) - A 43-year-old St. Louis County man has been arrested in connection with a fatal February hit-and-run in Kirkwood.

KSDK-TV (on.ksdk.com/1iKGTSj) reports that Omar Vazquez of St. Ann was arrested Friday and faces a felony charge of leaving the scene of an accident.

Fifty-year-old Joe Auffenberg was struck on North Kirkwood Road in an 11 p.m. collision on Feb. 9 and later died.

Auffenberg was walking home from Walgreens. He was a board member of St. Louis Arc, an agency that supports people with developmental disabilities
