LITTLE ROCK, Ark. (AP) - A federal judge has set a hearing in the Pulaski County School District’s effort to be declared desegregated.
U.S. District Judge D.P. Marshall Jr. has scheduled the session for 9 a.m., April 4 at the federal courthouse in Little Rock.
Marshall earlier approved a settlement involving the state and the Little Rock, North Little Rock and Pulaski County school districts to end long-running desegregation payments from the state.
The settlement went forward even though the Pulaski County School District had not achieved a federal court declaration that it was desegregated.
The district is still working on a number of issues as it strives to achieve that status.
