BUTTE, Mont. (AP) - Authorities say a 42-year-old Bozeman woman and her 16-year-old son died in a crash on Interstate 15 south of Butte.

Butte-Silver Bow Undersheriff George Skuletich confirmed the deaths, which was reported shortly after 10 a.m. Friday.

Three others, including the 16-year-old driver, an 11-year-old girl and a 13-year old girl have been hospitalized.

Authorities have not released their names.

Montana Highway Patrol Trooper Cody Ruane says the driver was distracted by something in the sport-utility vehicle, which drifted off the road. The driver overcorrected, causing the vehicle to roll.

Ruane says the woman was in the passenger seat and her son was sitting on a bench seat in the back of the vehicle.

He says she was improperly wearing a seatbelt and her son was not wearing one.
