DOUGLASVILLE, Ga. (AP) - Authorities in Douglas County say nine good Samaritans and two firefighters rescued a man from his burning truck during a chain reaction crash on I-20 west of Atlanta.

County spokesman Wes Tallon tells the Atlanta Journal-Constitution (https://bit.ly/1dWrcaN ) the driver’s clothes were on fire when he was pulled from his truck after a fiery crash Thursday afternoon. The crash led to a traffic jam that stretched on for miles.

Tallon says debris from the crash punctured a tire of a responding ambulance, and the trucker was taken to Grady Memorial Hospital in serious but stable condition.
