CONCORD, N.H. (AP) - The New Hampshire Senate has voted unanimously in favor of a bill that addresses pay equity between men and women.
The Senate voted 23-0 on Thursday for the Paycheck Fairness Act.
Senate Commerce Committee Chairman Andy Sanborn, a Bedford Republican, said the bill restates the responsibility employers have to pay men and women equal wages for equal work, further protects employees’ rights to discuss wage information with co-workers, and strengthens non-retaliation laws to protect employees who see fit to file a claim under the law.
The measure now heads to the House.
