PONTIAC, Mich. (AP) - Another round of deep cold has followed a storm that dumped more than 9 inches of snow on parts of southern Michigan.
Temperatures fell to double-digits below zero in several spots early Thursday, including minus 13 at Pontiac.
The temperature at Detroit Metropolitan Airport dropped to 3 degrees, breaking the March 13 record low of 5 for Detroit set in 1896.
The National Weather Service says the low dropped to 3 degrees at Grand Rapids. That breaks the previous record of 5 degrees set in 1926.
Warmer weather is expected Friday, with Detroit temperatures in the 40s.
The snowstorm passed out of Michigan by Wednesday evening after dumping snow in wide areas. The weather service reported 9 inches of accumulation in Kalamazoo and 9.3 inches in Holly, northwest of Detroit.
