MESA, Ariz. (AP) - Authorities have released the name of a man killed after his motorized scooter collided with a truck driven by a teenage boy in west Mesa.
Mesa police say the victim was 22-year-old Mason Merrill.
They say the unidentified teen appears to have only had a learner’s permit to drive.
Police say the 15-year-old boy could be facing charges for fleeing the scene after the Wednesday afternoon accident.
They say the teen showed no obvious signs of impairment and has been returned to the custody of his parents pending possible charges.
Police say other juveniles also were in the truck at the time of the fatal collision.
