MINOT, N.D. (AP) - Tanner Kretchman set a new record for most points scored in an opening round game as Fargo Davies defeated Minot 91-82 in a North Dakota Class A boys basketball quarterfinal on Thursday.

Kretchman shot 15-for-20 from the field for the Eagles (21-2), including five 3-pointers. He finished with 45 points, nine assists and six rebounds. Andrew Kozlowski added a double-double with 27 points and 14 rebounds.

The Magicians (16-7) were led by Nick Soltis who shot 7-for-10 from 3-point range to finish with 23 points and Dakota Halvorson added 21 points. Colter Hustad had a team-high 10 rebounds.
