BOWLING GREEN, Ky. (AP) - Reauna Cleaver had 20 points as Elizabethtown moved past Sacred Heart with a 76-61 victory on Thursday in the first round of the KHSAA Girls’ Sweet 16.
The second-ranked Panthers (26-4) used a 7-0 run at the end and five straight free throws to pull away with a 15-point victory over the Valkyries (27-8).
Erin Boley scored nine points during a 13-0 stretch in the first quarter for Elizabethtown, which moves on to face Anderson County in the second round, Friday, at Diddle Arena.
Boley finished with 19 points and 11 rebounds for the Region 5 champions. Rachel Warden had 12 points and seven rebounds while Livie Bowling scored 11 points and Darien Huff registered 10.
Daijia Ruffin led No. 7 Sacred Heart with 18 points and Raven Merriweather had 16 for the Region 7 champions.
