BRECKENRIDGE, Colo. (AP) - The Breckenridge Town Council has rejected proposed sculptures for a roundabout intersection at the north entrance of town.
Councilman Gary Gallagher says he does not believe any of four proposed sculptures are appropriate for people coming to town.
The seven-member council decided to start over because of negative public reaction.
The Summit Daily reports (https://tinyurl.com/kpv7quh ) one sculpture featured a skier, one featured two heads, one depicted a mountain being embraced by metal and another showing convoluted mountain formations.
The commission has been collecting money for three years for the art through the real estate transfer tax, which has generated $100,000 for a sculpture.
