HOT SPRINGS, Ark. (AP) - Raven Baker scored 15 points and Alivia Huell added 14 as Malvern rallied in the second half to earn its second straight state championship with a 50-44 win over Central Arkansas Christian in the girls Class 4A state championship game.
The Lady Leopards (30-2) trailed 23-17 at halftime and 41-40 in the fourth quarter before pulling away with a 7-0 run in the final minutes.
Huell, who was named the tournament’s Most Outstanding Player, had just three points on 1-of-6 shooting in the first half. The senior scored 11 in the second half, however, and had nine of Malvern’s final 12 points.
Sydnie Jones led the Lady Mustangs (26-7) with 15 points and 12 rebounds, while Chloe Elkins added 11 points and Falan Miller 10 in the loss.
