BESSEMER, Ala. (AP) - A northern Alabama man has been convicted of felony murder in the death of his 4-year-old stepson.

Al.com reports (https://bit.ly/Pxzldd) 37-year-old Jeremy Coleman was found guilty Thursday of beating special needs student Marcus Hill to death in December 2010. He was initially charged with capital murder.

Coleman’s attorneys had argued that the boy was injured in a fall down the stairs in late November.
