PORTLAND, Ore. (AP) - A Trader Joe’s store may still be coming to a northeast Portland neighborhood.
The office of Mayor Charlie Hales says he’s talking with company officials in Los Angeles, attempting to work out a deal.
Trader Joes’ pulled out of a proposed location last month after some community leaders complained about gentrification.
Urban League spokesman Michael Alexander told KOIN (https://bit.ly/1gppEDq) the area needs economic development that doesn’t cause displacement.
