DETROIT (AP) - Hundreds of schools are closing their doors for the day as snow falls across a wide swath of southern Michigan.
WWJ-AM reports school shut Wednesday include those in Lapeer, Livingston, Macomb, Oakland, St. Clair and Washtenaw counties along with Detroit Public Schools in Wayne County.
Other parts of southern Michigan also saw school closings, including Kalamazoo Public Schools and others in Kalamazoo County.
Closings or delays also are reported in Allegan, Barry, Branch, Calhoun, Clinton, Eaton, Ionia, Kalamazoo, St. Joseph and Van Buren counties. They came as snow and sleet fell from the southwestern portion of the state up through the state’s Thumb region.
