WASHINGTON, Pa. (AP) - A small plane has crashed at the Washington County Airport in southwestern Pennsylvania.

The Washington Observer-Reporter (https://bit.ly/1kKgfO2 ) reports that the single-engine plane crashed at about 2 p.m. Tuesday. The unidentified pilot reportedly suffered serious injuries and was taken by helicopter to a Pittsburgh hospital.

Witnesses reported that the pilot was practicing landings before the plane crashed over the hillside.



State police have secured the scene and the investigation is ongoing.
