CHARLESTON, S.C. (AP) - A North Charleston man faces a third trial for the deaths of two roommates.
The Post and Courier of Charleston reported ( https://bit.ly/1fmdIkX) that 28-year-old Rick Morrocco Williams is charged with murder in the 2010 New Year’s Eve killings of 44-year-old Angie Ferguson and 58-year-old Nathaniel Lonnie.
The new trial begins Tuesday.
A mistrial was declared in February 2013 after the jury deadlocked.
A judge declared a mistrial in a 2012 hearing after learning that a juror did not disclose certain information during jury selection.
The newspaper reported that before the jury deadlocked in last year’s trial, Williams testified he killed his roommates in self-defense at their apartment in North Charleston.
Prosecutors say the couple was killed after Lonnie had kicked Williams out of the home.
