Rep. Keith Gingery retires from Wyo. Legislature

JACKSON, Wyo. (AP) - Republican State Rep. Keith Gingery of Jackson says he won’t seek re-election.

The Jackson Hole News&Guide reports (https://bit.ly/1i374oe ) that the five-term veteran legislator says he will leave the Wyoming Legislature after his term expires at the end of this year.

Gingery says he wants to spend more time with his family and less time driving back and forth to Cheyenne.

Gingery is deputy Teton County attorney and is currently chairman of the House Judiciary Committee.

Gingery says he’s proud of his work rewriting the state’s laws on sexual assault against children.

He authored a bill in 2011 that allows police to take forced blood samples from people suspected of driving while drunk. The Wyoming Supreme Court has upheld the law.
