ANCHORAGE, Alaska (AP) - Anchorage police say a second person has died after a Monday evening shooting at the edge of the downtown area. A third person is hospitalized with less-serious injuries.

Police said Monday night that a victim who had been taken to a hospital with life-threatening injuries has died. No details were immediately provided about that victim or the person found dead at the shooting scene.

Officers searched for a suspect but have gotten varying descriptions of the man. Police responded with SWAT officers and K-9 units.

Police spokeswoman Jennifer Castro said the victims were shot about 6 p.m. Monday inside a tent in a wooded area just beyond a business parking lot.

The area was described as a homeless camp.
