PRESCOTT, Ariz. (AP) - A man being held in a Phoenix jail on suspicion of stealing copper wire is facing similar charges in Yavapai County.
An arrest warrant was issued Monday by Yavapai County Sheriff’s investigators for 25-year-old Ronald Moore.
A sheriff’s detective discovered Moore recently sold wire to a scrap metal dealer that allegedly was an exact match to the wire stolen.
Authorities say the Phoenix man also is allegedly linked to theft of wire from light poles in October 2013 along Highway 69 in Cordes Junction.
They say more than $30,000 worth of copper wire was taken in the two incidents combined.
Authorities say the Yavapai County arrest warrant will be served immediately upon Moore’s release from Maricopa County jail.
It was unclear Tuesday if Moore has an attorney.
