WASHINGTON PARK, Ill. (AP) - A woman appointed to the Washington Park Village Board as the replacement for her husband after he was convicted of a felony has now been removed from the panel.

The Belleville News-Democrat (https://bit.ly/1glpv3Q ) reports Washington Park’s Board of Trustees removed Rosonda Suggs without explanation on Monday and replaced her by Allen Ray Wiggens.

Rosanda Suggs was appointed in January to replace her husband Darron Suggs. He resigned in November after pleading guilty to federal health care fraud. He awaits sentencing.

Telephone calls by The Associated Press to the Suggs’ home on Monday seeking comment went unanswered.
