SCITUATE, R.I. (AP) - Dozens of animals were killed in a barn fire at a farm in Scituate.
WJAR-TV reports (https://bit.ly/1nh0kbK ) that Monday’s fire at Travis Family Farm killed four adult goats, six baby goats, 16 puppies, 18 chicks and some rabbits.
The farm’s owner tells the station that the barn was a maternity and nursing barn, and that they believe a heat lamp for the chicks was the likely cause of the fire.
The barn was destroyed, and the family says it plans to rebuild.
