BOSSIER CITY, La. (AP) - Bossier City police are investigating the fatal shooting that occurred overnight during a verbal altercation at the Pepper Point Mobile Home Park.

When officers arrived, they found the victim lying in the street with a gunshot wound to his upper body.

The victim was taken to University Hospital in Shreveport where he was pronounced dead.



A short time later a suspect turned himself in to police.

Twenty-seven-year-old Christopher Brandon Phillips, of Bossier City, was booked with second-degree murder.

Police are withholding the victim’s name pending notification of next of kin.

It was unclear whether Phillips has an attorney.
