SPOKANE, Wash. (AP) - Seven people are implicated in Spokane in the death of a man who was beaten with a baseball bat, shot multiple times, and burned with gasoline in a dispute over drugs and money.

A body found last week near Long Lake in Stevens County is believed to be David Whitman.

The Spokesman-Review reports (https://bit.ly/1iwyRRr) suspects appeared in court Monday facing kidnapping or murder charges.



Police learned of the Feb. 28 killing through a confidential informant.
