MOUNT AIRY, Md. (AP) - Maryland fire investigators say a woman has died after a house fire in Carroll County.

The State Fire Marshal’s office says the fire broke out at the home on Flag Marsh Road in Mount Airy on Sunday morning and one resident was able to get out unharmed before firefighter’s arrived.

Mount Airy fire officials say it took about 100 firefighters about 40 minutes to control the blaze. Officials say the woman was found dead inside the home. Her body will be taken to the Office of the Chief Medical Examiner for an autopsy and identification.

The fire marshal’s office says fire started in the living room of the home, which is located down a narrow, unpaved driveway, but the cause is under investigation. Damage is estimated at about $200,000.
