SEBASTOPOL, Miss. (AP) - The Sebastopol Natural Gas District is asking the Legislature to increase its funding capacity so it can expand service to farther into western Neshoba County and into the Pearl River community.
The district wants to increase its current debt authority from $10 million to $15 million by the issuance of revenue bonds.
Officials tell The Neshoba Democrat (https://bit.ly/1lcG1re ) that the expansion will allow the district to make natural gas available to several poultry farms and other households in western Neshoba County.
The district currently provides natural gas to only southwestern Neshoba county.
The new natural gas line would follow Mississippi Highway 21 south to near the Neshoba County Fairgrounds and then Pearl River community, which is part of the Mississippi Band of Choctaw Indians reservation.
