PRESCOTT, Ariz. (AP) - Prescott Valley police say an officer shot and wounded a man while responding to a residence where a caller had reported hearing shots fired..

Police say police had set up a perimeter officer around the home Sunday when a man came out and pointed a gun at an officer who then shot the man.

Police say the wounded man is hospitalized and that another man found inside the home with a neck wound was taken to a hospital for treatment.



No identifies have been released.

According to Prescott Valley police, the state Department of Public Safety will investigate the shooting.
